Youghal Celebrates History, a voluntary group dedicated to preserving and promoting the unique heritage in this wonderful walled port town is celebrating its 17th annual conference.
The theme of this years conference is SECRET SOCIETIES AND SOCIETIES WITH SECRETS 

This promises to be a very exciting conference …. with topics from the Templars to the 19th century and lots  in between .  It will be a little different this year – six lectures all on one day.


Dr. Diarmaid Scully (UCC) :  The Templars from the New Knighthood to Enemies of the Faith

Prof. Tadhg O’Keeffe (UCD)  :  Solomonic Secrets in the Architectural Profession ? The origins of Freemasonry

Dr. Maeve O’Riordan (UCC)  : Doneraile House and Elizabeth St. Leger – the first female Freemason

Dr. David Fleming (UL) :  Uncovering the Secrets of the Youghal Hanoverian Society

Dr. Jay Roszman (UCC)  : Outrages and the Secret Societies in East Cork, 1830 – 1845

Dr. Kieran Groeger (YCH) : Was Youghal a safe have for the families of the regicides?

Cork’s Premier Stage School for all your Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre Classes, Monday from 3.30 – 6.30 pm in the Mall Arts Centre, Youghal.

Founded by Catherine Mahon-Buckley twenty years ago, CADA Performing Arts is an acknowledged centre of excellence for Drama, Dance and Musical Theater Studies.

CADA continues to provide classes for 2018 after a successful 2017! They offer a chance to discover your own strengths and weaknesses.  We all have particular abilities in certain areas and success can only be achieved through self-awareness and by developing in individual artistry that is uniquely your own.

The Academy programmes are committed to your needs, an approach which is reflected in the dedication and expertise of our staff, stimulation, creative ethos and the provision of a quality studio environment.  Our aim is enable our students to identify, develop and nurture their own skills, perfecting a professional attitude, an inner confidence, self-esteem and team skills with which our students can flourish.

The Academy aims to provide the broadest possible training, giving each student individual attention to enable them to graduate with professional confidence and most important to have fun while achieving their full potential.

The main emphasis of the course concentrates on practical training in a range of drama, dance, singing and music and theater studies subject and takes place in a specially designed and build spacious studio complex which opened in 2004.
